The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, established by the United Nations in 2015, outlines a global vision for a better future—for people and the planet. At its core are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which call on all countries to work together to end poverty, improve health and education, reduce inequality, promote sustainable growth, and address climate change. This agenda emphasizes the need for integrated solutions that protect the environment while ensuring peace and prosperity for all.

SDG Progress in 2025

The 2025 assessment shows that the world is significantly off-track in meeting the goals of the 2030 Agenda. Of the 135 targets with available trend data and insights from custodian agencies, only 17% are on pace to be achieved by 2030. Nearly 48% show moderate to severe deviations from the desired path—30% with marginal progress and 18% with moderate progress. More concerning, 18% have stalled entirely, and 17% have regressed below 2015 baseline levels. These findings highlight the urgent need for accelerated global action
